Ms Mbali Dhlomo who is the Founder and owner of the business - which incorporates GENUINE Magazine and INTUTHUKO Newspaper - expressed her heartfelt appreciation at having been chosen as 2nd runner-up in the Best Black Woman-Owned Business Category. "It is truly an honour for me to win this Award. It is especially heartening to win at this time as GENUINE is celebrating ten (10) years of existence this year. And while ¾ of these years have been very challenging, I am happy that the sacrifice and all the hard work that I put in, is now starting to pay off and bear significant fruits. I can safely say that this is a near-perfect ending to what has been an exciting year for me."
Speaking at the function, MEC for the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Mr Mike Mabuyakhulu said with these Awards, his Department seeks not only to level the playing fields between big business and emerging entrepreneurs, but also to encourage creativity, diversity and the spirit of undying entrepreneurship among business people of KwaZulu-Natal.
